Polly! Guest Designer - Louise

It’s Louise back again with my third layout using the
January Kit, Almond Biscotti. Ever
since I first opened the kit, I was trying to think of how I would use the
little Aussie flag toothpicks, the calendar printables and the clipboard
stamp. About halfway through
creating my second layout, I came up with the solution so I quickly started
making some notes and positioning things on the page so I could come back to it
and not forget what I was doing! Sometimes that happens- while I man working on
one project, inspiration strikes for another, and although it’s pretty cool, it
can wreak havoc on my workflow LOL!
So, the solution for these supplies was to tell the story of
how we spent the afternoon on Christmas Day at the beach and how this
represents Christmas in the summertime in the land Down Under. By the time I started on this page, I
was running low on patterned paper, so there isn’t much layering, but I was
still able to add texture and height with my embellishments.
I used the glassine bag that the
sequins were packaged in and one of the wine glass clips to create a cluster
above my photos, and one of the flags together with some of the Basic Grey
diecuts to create another beneath my photos.
I drank wine with Christmas lunch and my boys drank lemonade
so I was able to use my embellishments to add to my story.
I stamped the clipboard onto some
patterned paper to create a place to hold my title, added some machine
stitching and ink splats as is my usual “thang” and my page was done in around
15 minutes flat :)
