Scrappy Canary: Studio Calico

"Have Fun Ok!" May "Sweet Treat" Scrapbook Kit | Louise Beerens

Hello again Canaries! Today I'm sharing another layout using the May "Sweet Treat" Scrapbook Kit. It's a 8.5"x11" page and features two 3x4 photos. I made two tags from patterned paper to form a sort-of grid design.

If you are from Western Australia you might recognise this famous ex-footballer in the top photo ;-)

As is my usual "thang", I made a few little embellishment clusters and although the chipboard sticker pack has a birthday party vibe, they are very adaptable to use on all sorts of layouts.

I die-cut some paper scraps to make these arrow-shaped pieces. I also used some of the puffy star stickers I had leftover from a previous kit.

The gold foil on these chippy stickers is gorgeous and the geometrical shapes ensure they work well on boy layouts too.

Little Smoochers... Layout share by Michelle

Hi Everyone, Michelle here with a layout share.

Today its a layout made using the May Add-On kit

This month I went a little crazy and ordered all 3 kits.. whoops. But in all honesty, why not? They're packed full of awesome products!

My favourite part of this kit was the 12x12inch glittery foam hearts. I knew I needed to make them the Hero of a layout, so this is what I came up with..

Little Smoochers, so darn cute! A captured moment on Mother's Day between Leila and her cousin.

I kept the layout itself quite simple, layering up papers from the Amelia paper pad. Minimal embellishments came from the kit, plus I dipped into my bits & pieces pack from the Pocket Life kit to add a few finishing touches

To keep my alphas stuck, Ive smothered them in glossy accents.

"Beautiful Day" May "Sweet Treat" Scrapbook Kit | Louise Beerens

Hello Canaries! I'm back with another layout share using the May Scrapbook Kit. It's back to my usual 8.5x11 format and I have a small photo grid about 4x4" in size.

I cut the camera out from one of the patterned papers and layered a glittered gold heart on top and I also cut the "Lovely Day" from the strip on one of the other papers.

I used a Tim Holtz die to make this rosette from the mint spotted paper and layered one of the gold chipboard pieces on top for my title.

These Dear Lizzy bobby pins in the kit are so adorable!

"Life is Wonderful" May "Sweet Treat" Scrapbook Kit | Louise Beerens

Hello Canaries! Today I'm sharing a layout using the May "Sweet Treat" Scrapbook Kit. It's an 8.5"x11" layout oriented horizontally. I took one of the patterned papers and cut apart the square that said "Life is..." and then added one of the chipboard pieces to create my title.

I used the gold glitter chipboard hearts and foam glitter hearts around my page, as well as some of the puffy stickers I had leftover from last month's kit.

I added a manila tag, a label and some twine from my stash and machine stitched for some added texture.

12x12 layout

Sweet Family... layout share by Michelle

Hi Everyone!

Michelle here today with my first layout share for this month.

I've used the May Sweet Treat kit, and dipped into the Elle's Studio bits & pieces pack from the Pocket Life kit.

I love everything about this layout. The colours, the design and most of all a very rare photo of the 3 of us together.

I started with the foil chevron paper, some modelling paste, a chalk ink and a Kaiser Craft stencil.

I spread the modelling paste in random places and once dry, I smudged the ink with a sponge

Once the background was completely dry (and buckled) I adhered it to the Simple Stories paper.

I cut a 10x10 inch square from the middle of the paper for use on other layouts before doing this

I've grabbed a doily and layered it with a 4x4 cut apart from the Dear Lizzy sheet and the barcode paper strip, then mixed the Gold alphas with a Pink Paisley glitter foam word to create my Title.

The 'Remember this' tab is from the Elle's Studio bits & pieces pack

I've used the Lets Party paper as a photo mat, and together with a sweet sentiment from the ephemera pack in my stash Ive held them all in place with a Dear Lizzy bobby pin

Lastly Ive embellished with items from the Chipboard stickers pack, some Studio Calico Gold glitter hearts, some white glitter hearts from the Pink Paislee foam words and shapes pack and lastly a wood button from the Shimelle 1/2 pack.

April Mayfair Kit

"Big Yay!" April "Mayfair" Scrapbook Kit | Louise Beerens

Hi Canaries! I'm back with another layout share using the April "Mayfair" Scrapbook Kit. It's an 8.5"x11" page featuring four photos. With so many photos, it is important to keep the design simple, so I simply used patterned paper, a piece from the cut-apart sheet as my title and three clusters of small star embellishments. I also used a label from the free printable sheet that Manda designed for our newsletter subscribers.

I love to use text from these cards for titles and this, although probably designed for a party theme, was perfect for my page.

I used the cork stars and puffy stickers from the kit and added star sequins from my stash.

And of course I couldn't resist adding stitching for subtle texture and to hold everything securely.

April Mayfair Kit

"Capture the Moment" April "Mayfair" Scrapbooking Kit | Louise Beerens

Hi Canaries! It's Louise today with another layout share using the April "Mayfair" Kit. I've scrapped a rare photo of my big boy and me and I have again used the 8.5"x11" format.

I used some of the chipboard flags and some stickers to create this little cluster in the top right corner of my page.

One of the star clips combined with puffy stickers and a chipboard heart made another cluster at the top left corner of my photo.

I used one of the cut-apart sheets to create my title and layered this on more patterned paper and some of the polkadot transparency.

"Always Cute" April "Mayfair" Scrapbooking Kit | Louise Beerens

Hellooooo Canaries! I'm back with another 8.5"x11" layout using the April "Mayfair" Kit. I started by adding a little bit of a Distress Ink wash in small areas on my background and then built my page vertically down the right hand side.

I cut apart one of the pattern papers to create my little banner strips- I love to cut papers apart to make embellishments. I added some chipboard pieces from the Echo Park set in the kit and stitched those down with my sewing machine.

I added a scattering of the puffy stickers here and there too....I love the variety of colours in the pack.

Dropped Down in London Town....using the Penny Lane Scrapbook Kit - with Tarrah

It's Tarrah here with you today...I wanted to share a layout with you today that I created using the gorgeous September 'Penny Lane' Scrapbook Kit...

I am very fortunate to have been to London twice now and every time I go it still blows me away...it is such an amazing place...I just love it!

As soon as I saw the Studio Calico travel paper in the Penny Lane Scrapbook Kit, I just knew that I wanted to scrap one of my travel photos.... I placed one of the super cute wood veneer hearts about where London is on the map paper!
