Well this is my last post for the Scrappy Canary team..
It is so bitter sweet as I have now been with the team through so many changes and this was actually the very first design team that I joined :) It was being accepted onto this team that gave me the push to apply for Scrapbooking Memories Masters and the BoBunny team which I have been lucky to be accepted onto both teams..
So THANK YOU Scrappy Canary for taking a chance on me and believing in me, and for allowing me to take a leap and go after my scrappy dreams..
So let me share with you my last layout I made using the December Scrapbooking Kit - Sunshine & Lollipops.
I managed to have some play with my Gelatos and my shimmerz paints with lots of layering..
I did struggle to journal over the top of the gelatos and literally had a go with about 5 different pens and then found my slick writer to work best over the top.
Well thank you all for support throughout my time here and I will certainly be around to see the exciting things ahead for the Canary girls.

Hellooo there Canaries..
Welcome to the very last day of the year!!
I don't know about you but for me I get ll excited and reflective at the same time of what was for the year and what will be for the year ahead :) Especially when it comes to what I want to achieve in my scrappy goals..
This year I wanted to participate in as many online challenges as possible.. I LOVE challenges and having to work within a certain criteria , but alas my year became occupied by so many other things that I hardly had the time to participate!! So next year this is another goal I would like to try and see through.. So speaking of challenges have you seen the challenge we have HERE on the blog? Today is your last day to enter and we would LOVE to see your entry..
So to go out with a bang I thought I would show my take on this challenge ( and then I can say I worked on my scrappy goal lol) . I used the December Scrapbooking Kit - Sunshine & Lollipops to complete the layouts and managed to stretch this kit and have completed a few layouts! ( I will be back to share those) .
The grid style layout is so fun to work with and is a staple of mine when scrapbooking.
To help attach the gorgeous Pink Paislee letters I firstly used my Glossy Accents , and once that dried I sewed them down :)
Well I hope you do have a chance today to take part in our challenge as we would love to see your take on it..

If by chance you have already completed all your Christmas To-Do list ( well done by the way) and are able to grab some creative time today then perhaps pull out your December Rainbow Connection Pocket Life kit as it is so fun to play with!!
This is my second layout with the kit, and this week I even managed to slip in an extra insert to house all my extra photos!!
I decided to keep the title card pretty plain this time around , as I just wanted to desperately fussy cut all the flowers out and have that as the major display. So I simply added the dates from the start to the end of the week and called it done.

I also used the extra embellishment kit Lucky Star !! That is where all the gorgeous Amy Tangerine overlays are from and the Heidi Swapp Buzz stickers.
Then here is the extra insert that I also created for this weeks spread. It is relatively simple as I am trying to add less bulk to my layouts, as I am already on my third album for the year..
I still have enough left over to create one more spread I think!

Helloooo there Canaries...
Bernii Miller here with you today to share my Project Life spread with you using the latest December - Rainbow Connection Pocket Life kit .. This kit is SO FUN!!!
Full of Heidi Swapp papers and teamed with the cutest Evalicious puffy stickers and many other little treasures!! The kit also came with a full packet of the Heidi Swapp color magic alphas. So I decided to use some of them just as is and coloured the others with my Colour Shine Inks.
To help keep the alphas in place I sewed through them . But just a tip.. wait till the alphas are fully dry as they become soft and a little weak when they are still damp and can move when sewn through. I found that out the hard way!!
Again I used all the 6 x6 papers to create all the background papers in my layout. I love doing that as it adds so much colour.
I also used my vintage typewriter for the first time to complete my Project Life spread and had fun figuring out how to use it. I learnt also this week to adhere the photos AFTER typing..lol..

Hello there Canaries...
It is Bernii here with you this evening to share with you my latest Project Life spread that I made using the November - Pocket Life Kit " Note to Self" . This kit is based around the super fun from Echo Park - Creative Agenda and Manda has done another superb job!!
Manda has supplied everything in this including a stamp set, flair , project life cards and the most amazing exclusive Amy Tangerine pieces!!
For this week I kept the photos minimal as it was more about the stories that I wanted to capture albeit minimal. I was a really nice change for me to not have so many photos..
I even managed to slip in a card that I had my 5 year old write on to keep as a little keepsake. I love being able to add in those precious little touches..
I also went around the different pockets and sewed down the wood grain Teresa Collins alphas, to help them stick but mainly because I love the look of it.

Bernii Miller here with you today to share with you my Project Life spread using the
This kit if full of gorgeous papers from Teresa Collins and some of the most adorable paper clips I have seen around!!
The kit also came with some awesome chalkboard labels which contrast so well with papers. I used a Posca white pen to write on the chalkboard labels as they are really smooth and create really bright white lines.
I also snuck in a only a few pieces of the October embellishment kit - Clover Love how these extra kits can really help to stretch your kits!!
I did also sneak in some of my own sequins and paper doilies as they really work well with these papers...

It is Bernii Miller here today with you to share with you a pocket page that I made using the Strawberry Fields Pocket Life page from September.
This kit was full of the new Shimelle collection so I was so happy to use as much of the 6 x 6 papers to create all the back ground cards. I also printed out two of the free monthly printables that came with the kit ( emailed to you if you are a subscriber) and used these throughout the layout. I LOVE those printables as I get soooo much use out of them! You can see on my title card that I mainly used the printable to create it.

Bernii here with you today to share with you another of my Project Life spreads, although this time I am actually using the August " Bohemian" main scrapbooking kit and a couple of the left overs from the August "Gypsy" Pocket Life kit. I have pretty much now managed to kill both of those kits and I am so happy with all the scrappy goodness I managed to make. So let's take a look at what I created.

I love the bold Pinkfresh Tangerine foil alphas that came in the kit! They are so different from anything else I have seen , and they match so perfectly with the bright colours in the kit.
I also managed to use up more of the Pretty Little Studio gold foil arrow embellishments from the Pocket Life kit. I love those little arrows so much!! I also created an insert for the this week as I could not bare to choose none of these photos.
I also sewed through all of the alphas for a little interest and to also adhere them down permanently.

Bernii Miller here today to share with you some stash busting tips when it comes to leftovers from using your Scrappy Canary Pocket Life kits. In particular for this layout I used the gorgeous July Day Trip Pocket life Kit.. full of scrumptious Terra Collins goodies.
When ever I first get my Canary Kit and make a project life spread I always use the 6 x 6 papers to create background " cards" for the all of the pockets. That is how I end up with my really colourful spreads. But then I always end up with all the leftover bits of strips. I used to throw them out and call it all done, but then I realised that that was really silly as I could actually get more out of my kit if I just used those scraps up to create another spread. I used the basic Becky Higgins journal grid card in both the 3x4 and 6x4 format and decided to splatter ink on the all the cards also to add more of a uniform look as well..
To help stash bust the rest of the kit, I also added in left over bits from the awesome Embellishment kits that you can also get from the shop. This really makes the kits go so much more further.

Here you can see on my right hand side of the spread in more detail that I have scattered around the leftover patterned papers around each of the cards in a little way. That way it still adds cohesiveness to the overall look.

I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Becky Higgins Project life party in Sydney early in the year . Originally I was going to create a mini album about the day although in the end I just decided to add in an extra insert into the week. So below shows both sides of the extra insert. I am happy I went this way instead as I actually managed to fit in all the important information that I wanted too.
I hope I have shown you a different way to perhaps use up all those tiny left over pieces from your Scrappy Canary Pocket Life kits. I know that my self I am extra proud of myself that I have managed to squeeze every last piece that I can out of the kit and making it stretch just that little bit further.

This week for me was a busy week with loads of things happening in the Miller household. I went on a trip to see Heidi Swapp, my son turned 3, my daughter lost her two front teeth and I attended my annual Stitchers day out. So trying to fit them all in was certainly challenging. So I have included an insert and will also create some 12 x 12 layouts with the multiple photos from all those events.
I wanted to share with you today my latest Project Life spread using the August Pocket Life "Gypsy" kit. I have one word for this kit .. WOW !!

I used the bull clip from the kit to close the top of the page protector. I was finding that the top card in my insert was slipping out , then remembered the adorable clip in the kit! Perfect solution.
I decided to sew through all the wood grain stickers, just to give them a little more sticking power! I also like the effect it makes and always adds a little touch of texture and that something "extra".

Oh wow it seems like it has been so long since I have posted or shared with you my Project Life spreads.. In fact this is my first post on the new looking Scrappy Canary blog and I am loving the bright yellow..
Well today I wanted to quickly share with you my Project life spread using the July - Day Trip kit which is full of gorgeous bits and pieces from Teressa Collins, Chich Tags and Freckled Fawn just to name a few. This is a gorgeous neutral kit which worked really well with all the colourings in my random photos.
I kept this week fairly minimal as I am getting a rather fat album fast and need to make sure I can fit all my weeks into it! So for this layout I gravitated more towards the stickers and the flat embellishments.
I just wanted to share a little tip with you also about my pockets. No matter what I ALWAYS frame my cards with a fine tip sharpie. This always brings cohesiveness to my layout, no matter how busy or plain the weekly layout it.
I also find that by outlining all the cards, it creates that unified look even when my pictures are blurry or a complete colour contrast.
