Hey guys and welcome to another one of my layouts using the fantastic Polly! kits. The April Showers Project Life Kit was a real challenge for me. There wasn't any pink!!!! Huge drama lol. I had no idea how I was going to complete a layout without any pink...





The next best solution? RED! Instead of drawing on the obvious blue tones of the Basic Grey Mon Ami paper range, I chose to pick up on the slight highlight of red in the tulips on the bicycle paper. It was by far my favourite piece of paper and while I had chosen different papers to start with, I quickly gravitated towards the same piece.



There were a lot of products in this months kit that were not my normal go-to type products. The stickers by Echo Park and the Elle's Studio cut aparts were both things I had dismissed and decided I wasn't going to use... and then I started scrapping. I was so impressed with both products. I loved the cut aparts and I used quite a few of them on my layout. I even stamped on this card. I am not a stamper, I usually don't like stamping, but this stamp was just amazing and I just HAD to use it!

My advice to all of you is to push yourself a little further and use some of the items in your kits that you don't necessarily like or use often.. You will be impressed with the result!!

Hey guys, so once again I am using the wonderful Amy Tangerine Plus One papers that came in the March PL kit. I haven't really scrapped since my last layout I shared here on Polly! and I don't know about you, but for me I don't like the same collection of paper showing up two weeks in a row and with 2013 finished, I really had no idea what I was going to create to inspire you all to use those last little bits of your March kit. I was thinking of possibly making cards but then I thought to myself that I hadn't finished my end page for my 2013 album. I had picked out colours and cards but I was totally uninspired by what I had sitting before me. You will see the layout in the process video below.


So using the March kit, I decided to focus on the beautiful yellow and black love heart pattern which I just adore and from there I created a stunning black white and yellow end page for my 2013 album.



 I really love not using traditional christmas colours and papers on christmas type layouts. Since this was the end of the year and i had a heap of unused Christmas card photo shoot images left over, I decided to do a mini collage on one 12x12 Design A page.


I chose one of my 3x4 photos to also be in colour and add just a little something extra to my page. I have formed a habit of doing my title and end pages in black and white and the rest of my album in colour photos.


 I also used the cute little cork Instagram frame to focus in on another of my 3x4 photos.


 I used a lot of the cute little round stickers from the sticker sheets and just love how they so easily tie in with the colour scheme. And last but definitely not least, I have included yet another process video for you all. Even though this one doesnt have a lot to it, I still love documenting my work through video and since I dont blog, vlogging is my way of capturing the process. I hope you enjoy guys and thanks again for checking out my creations!

Hey guys, so here I am back again with another PL layout and process video using some of the beautiful Plus One goodies in the new Jellybeans March Project Life kit from Polly!


Here is a video I made to run through the contents of this months Polly! PL kit.



I am such a lover of this range when I saw what was actually going to be in the kit I just ... well... I don't know what I did. My heart probably stopped beating or I stopped breathing or something. I cant remember lol. So as soon as I got the kit from Ruth I just dived as deep as I could into the goodness of this kit!



I am loving brush script, pink, black, white and GOLD! at the moment so for the week of my sisters 22nd birthday, I decided to play with some of my favourite things. I love how young and funky (yes I am feeling very old when I use the word "funky") this layout looks. It was probably the layout that took me the least amount of time to create (after I spent over an hour looking for my little scissors).


I am getting more and more familiar with my own style.. Drawing borders around photos and encrusting cards in jewels, enamel dots and other embellishments. I just love that no matter how different the colours or the design elements are, your layouts always look similar and follow a certain story. They just all flow from one to another.


I have decided that I really need to buy and acrylic block to stamp with. Before Polly! I didn't stamp, I still don't stamp, except for my Polly! layouts. I love the stamps but its so difficult to find something that will stamp evenly and give me a crisp image. Luckily (as you will see in the video), I found something to use to stamp the really cute speech bubble and phrase. It just works perfectly with the photo and I even found Josh asking the same question, "Seriously?" when he saw it. He still hates candid photos of himself in my albums lol.


Finally guys, here is the process video for my Week 12 layout. I cant believe I am almost caught up. Its crazy to think that I have stayed so regular with my layouts.

Hey guys, so its another late Wednesday night and here I am with another blog post and Project Life layout using the February Salted Caramel Ice Cream kit. I absolutely adored the gold papers from MME in the kit this month and couldn't wait to use them. I knew I wanted to use them on a Christmas layout. From there I knew I had to strive to finish my 2013 and luckily this week I did. It is such an achievement after you complete your last layout in a year long book. My PL for 2013 was only 16 weeks since I started in September but I still felt that same accomplished feeling. I cant wait to look back on this year after completing 52 weeks and seeing how it all looks and how I feel about the whole process.


Enough rambling tonight (you can tell I am tired). Here is the layout I created. Sorry about the low quality pics. I took them today with a cloudy, rainy sky and the focus just didn't seem to want to work the way it usually does.



I am a huge fan of simple colours and white on white at the moment, especially for title cards.


As always guys you can check out my process video below and see just how I created this layout. I did start out with a lot of Polly! products from the past two kits and then later on throughout the layout wanted to really focus on those gold papers..

Hey guys, Nae back with a Saturday blog and vlog for you all. This week I decided I would take a little walk back in time and look at my old layouts and albums from the mid 2000's. It was a completely different time in my life and it was interesting to compare it to my new pretty PL pages.

Please be warned however when you do view this video. I made it on the favour of Project Life. I am very pro Project Life at the moment and think it is the most amazing system of scrapbooking ever. I do love 12x12 layouts and I love what people can do and fit into a 12x12 layout (especially the girls here at Polly!).

This video is more a comparison of my own layouts and what I now prefer for memory keeping. Please do not take any of this as offensive or personally. My goal as of late has been to promote Project Life as much as possible and that includes more vlog posts like this!


In the video I reflect on old layouts, and compare them to my more recent layouts. You will see a whole bunch of paper piecing, fussy cutting and tedious amounts of hand stitching and doodling. I thought these layouts were so amazing when I made them and now I look back and see just how far the world of scrapbooking has come. Its amazing.


Anyways before I ramble on with more useless rubbish here is the video.



If you are a PL creator, let me know some of your upsides to Project Life or maybe even some downsides you found to the system.

If you are a traditional 12x12 layout creator, why not let me know some bonuses of your scrapbooking. Or why not even buy a pocketed page protector and try and integrate it into your traditional albums! I would love to see what you all create.

Nae back again with another Project Life layout. After about 6 months of doing Project Life, I have really started to find my scrap style again! Its great and its so nice to finally have a formula to work to. Pastel colours are really not in my scrap formula but in February's PL kit, I was given a little challenge. The cards were pastel and quite busy. Most of my layouts usually use less busy cards but despite this, I was still able to use these beautiful cards to my advantage and fit them into my style!

You may be a little concerned for how far behind I am with PL but dont worry. I am working on both 2013 and 2014 and you will be happy to know, with these Polly! assignments, I now only have 2 weeks left of 2013 to do. This layout is of my week 13 and 14, the first weeks of december. Life was really busy with me for work so not a lot of photos taken but a lot of things happening!! Im sorry if you are sick of looking at Christmas. I am not a fan of themey papers and embellishments and Christmas papers are one of my biggest hates. I hope this layout will help inspire you to not use such traditionally themed products on your layouts but still conveying the essence of the holiday.


So for this layout I decided to stick primarily with the cards from the kit. I plan to use the beautiful gold black and white MME papers for another layout later on in the month. When I was doing my layout for this week I completely misplaced my embellishment add on kit and I am still trying to find it. It definitely would have looked awesome with this layout.


As much as I had no idea what I was going to do with the teeny thin washi tape, I soon found a new love for the stuff. I loved using it as a background strip for my journalling. On photos, on cards it worked everywhere and just gave that beautiful little hint of colour!

Hey guys,

So I only just got my February Polly! Kit in the mail yesterday and with travelling last week I had no time to actually scrapbook using some of the wonderful things in the new kit. Luckily, I had a second layout with January's kit that I thought might help you relive last months kit and if you loved it as much as me, maybe even go back and get some more of the goodness in the Raspberry Shortcake Kit.


For my layout this week, I got to use a few of my favourite colours, the black, bright pink and yellows from the Studio Calico Print Shop papers in the kit. Unfortunately I don't use a lot of patterned paper in my layouts and prefer to just embellish photos but this week I really tried to use as much patterned paper as I could.

Hey guys,

Nae back again with another blog post and video. I am hoping to include as many videos as possible on my Polly! posts. I hope you are all really enjoying them. I love making them!

Today I am finally able to release my week one Project Life layout using the Polly! Raspberry Shortcake January Kit. I absolutely love the light soft colours in this kit, not to mention the abundance of teal and pink. Those colours are like my power colours and I know when I use them (in whatever amount) my layouts are going to be pleasing to my own eye.

So like Bernii, I am one to carry my embellishments and theme across an entire double page layout. I just feel it brings continuity to the page and what is essentially your week in project life. Be warned though, I am an embellishment fiend and so my layouts are really bulky. I am yet to finish an entire year in Project Life but I have a feeling I am going to need more than two albums to hold my works.

So enough of the talkies. I bet you guys all want to see what exactly I came up with this week!


Most of my photos are dark and carry a lot of shadows thanks to the midnight new years party that my boyfriend and I had at our house (just us and our kitties lol) but I just wanted to show you how even with light water coloured cards, you can still incorporate bright and colourful accents and embellishments. I feel the light cards really allow the embellishments and more importantly the photos stand out.

So today I wanted to do something a little different with you all and share my scrap space. I am a youtube fanatic and I am constantly searching videos for scrap room tours. To be honest, most of them are the same old boring white washed rooms with a little burst of colour. Walls lined with shelves packed with stock they will never use (or even know they have). As much as I enjoyed watching these videos in the beginning I am now sick of seeing these videos and so today I wanted to share with you my own take.


I don't know if it is wrong of me to say that I feel my video is more of a 'realistic' scrapper's space. You know, the ones that don't have a billions of dollars to spend on a full room of product. I feel that this video opens you up to the possibility of using the spaces you have in your home and still creating something beautiful and individually you.


It doesn't have to be something you lock away from the family, it can be a space you share with everyone. I know if I locked my scrap stuff away in a separate room I would never use it. It would stay closed and I would forget about it. I love that my room is open and inviting, it is small and comfortable and something that always strikes up conversation when we have guests over. Its a great excuse for me to get out my album (I only have one at the moment) and show it off.
