What I did with the May kit.

10:15

I had this kit sitting on my desk for the last week ... waiting on the right photos. All along they were sitting there in my printed pile right next to me!
I couldn't stop scrapping when I started this kit....so I created three layouts in one sitting.

This first page I used that fabulous Take Note paper from Studio Calico...I love the way the eye can be led with this paper to certain aspects of the layout. It's a great design.
I used the same paper (both) sides to create the chevron pieces. I actually freehand cut these (so they aren't perfect by any means) and I stitched a line of hand sewing down the middle.
(and yes...my favourite drink is indeed guinness.)

This second layout I crreated about a family trip that we had to New Zealand when I was young. I am slowly working my way through my early years photos. I have had to actually scan the originals in...so with many hours sitting in front of the computer correcting colours and dust spots..I have some to scrap! The little wooden pegs are the only thing that I added to this page. I am addicted to those at the moment (and a little bird tells me there will be a couple in the next kit!) I punched some pieces (from the Fiskars blue ribbon punch) to create this banner using the twine.

Finally I created this layout. Another old photograph (and I cringe because I have short boy hair..thanks to my sisters handy job with a pair of scissors) As you can probably see I am bit fond of this idea of distressing the edges of the paper on a matte of cardstock. I actually whipped out the sewing machine onto this one! Another common feature of these three layouts is the yellow and black mist (I use Studio Calico sunshine and black chalkboard mist)

So that brings me to the end. I had so much fun with this kit and it is by far one of my favourites yet!
If you missed out...keep an eye on the Polly! facebook page for the release date of the next!
