It's been a busy week...

Hi again :) I have another week to share using this month's awesome Oxford Pocket Life Kit. Unfortunately this kit has already sold out, and you should definitely consider the great subscription offer if you don't want to miss out on the next kit!

Living in a house full of boys, often means I will be documenting things like car engines and drag races and I loved how the bold colours and fun cards in this kit made putting these pages together a breeze.

 

I paired one of the cards from the kit together with a few stickers and accents to create a title card for the week. I also added a few embellishments from the co-ordinating Shimelle Collection from the store.

Using a sheet of velum, I created a simple pocket to add a business card to my page. I folded the vellum around the filler card and used stickers and a journal strip to tie the pocket in with the adjoining photo.

 

I love adding artwork my boys have made to my album, and while I usually take a photo of the artwork, sometimes adding a snippet from the original piece can also work well. I used more stickers and these cute polaroid frames that I cut out from one of the 6x6" patterned papers, finished off with a fun wooden button for extra detail.

 

I often like to repeat a particular item across the entire spread, and decided to use simple horizontal strips of paper layered with stickers and small clusters of embellishments to help tie both pages in together. I also used different arrows from the kit across both sides of the layout.

The second part of the week, was a lot less masculine than the first but once again I had a variety of busy photos and decided to matt all the pics with a white background to give the eye a place to rest while looking across the page. I find that doing this also helps different colours and patterns work better next to each other.

 I continued with the horizontal layers to add journaling and stickers that helped to tell the story, again adding more of the little polaroids and a few arrows to my clusters.
