Life is Sunshine and Lollipops with Sandra

12:09

It's Christmas Eve and I can barely contain my excitement! If you celebrate the season too, I hope you are more organised than I am... I still have a *little* bit of shopping left... mainly because I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I just need everything to be just right. That, and I am very much in a giving mood this year, so I've gone a little overboard with the gifts (which I promised I wouldn't do)... whoops!

But before the real madness starts, here's a new layout of mine using December's Sunshine & Lollipops scrapbooking kit, which I just adore for this time of year with it's fun, bright colours. There are still a couple left in the shop - they are perfect for documenting Summer outdoor play, which is what I've done this week.

Truth be told, this layout has changed somewhat from my original version of it. That's because just as I was adding some ink splotches to the original background (which was the aqua ombre Amy Tangerine paper), I spilled my Mister Huey's white mist all over it. Massive sad face :( BUT... testament to how well Manda puts her kits together, I simply chose another paper from the kit and switched it out. Unfortunately it meant I lost a couple of the stickers (I did try to salvage them but man, those Amy Tangerine stickers are sticky!).

The Amy Tangerine stickers are so lovely and dainty. To help the watercolour effect pop a bit more I stuck them onto white cardstock and fussy cut around them. This has the extra bonus of adding dimension as they aren't sitting flat on the page. Because I did have to change the background paper to a busier one, I added some small paper doilies to help them stand out better.

The Studio Calico cork cameras are gorgeous, and I love that they include various shape and size cameras in the one pack. I chose to cover the camera with some gold glitter medium, to continue the gold throughout the layout. There are also little pops of gold throughout the Amy Tangerine stickers also, which makes for a cohesive, flowing layout.

Before I go, I can't leave without saying how much I adore the Heidi Swapp September Skies paper I used as the photo mat. It is SUCH a beautiful palette and very easy to use and coordinate with so many other collections. And the Maggie Holmes Open Book glitter accent Thickers. All in all, I adore this December kit, and if you haven't got yours yet, I encourage you to do so - this is one I know you will enjoy!

Have a MERRY Christmas everyone, and if you don't happen to celebrate it, I hope you enjoy a lovely break also. I will (hopefully) be sipping cocktails by the pool! {It's highly unlikely it will be that easy, but that's where my heart will be anyway!}

Love and light,
Sandra xx
