Taking a "turn" with the August sketch and the July kit!

11:20

Hi, Ruth here today and I am playing with the fabulous July Scrappy Canary Scrapbooking Kit, there are still a couple in the store and that means if you subscribe today you would get this kit sent out straight away and be guaranteed a kit every month.

My favourite thing in the kit this month is those thickers you see above, they start out KRAFT coloured with white stripes but I used markers to recolour them to match my papers and I love that effect, it is so fun to make something your own!

For my layout I used the August Scrappy Canary Sketch, though I turned it from a vertical pile of pieces into a horizontal line of them. I used various papers from the kit plus cut out journalling cards from the Teresa Collins paper and used my shipping tags for some journalling as part of the stack.  I also made an obvious change in the shape on the photo, since I had these recent photobooth photos and they make me so happy that I wanted to scrapbook the page. The story is simply about how I love the way the photobooth lets us capture the memory in a different way and how the kids are so unusued to photobooths that they couldnt figure out which way to look before it was actually over! LOL it is part of the memory for me to have them looking every which way though.
I loved the way the stars were so movie appropriate (well in my head anyway), I couldnt make the word "love" work for me in my title, so instead I just punched out a heart, it might only make sense to me, but I love the way the title turned out.
Are you joining in the sketch challenge this month? We would really love to see what you create.
